Viaggiando comodamente in macchina, sono tornata a Firenze. Si, un altro weekend fuori! Amo viaggiare, specialmente quando vado a trovare, anche se per poco tempo, persone che amo. Ho dimenticato tutti gli impegni di questi giorni, posso dire che valanghe di pasta al salmone della zia mi hanno aiutata parecchio. E pensare che solo poche ore prima avevo deciso di mettermi un pò a dieta. Avevo il 'The Florentine' sulla scrivania da qualche giorno ormai, e ho deciso di aprirlo. Giusto perchè ho valanghe di cose da studiare e giusto perchè ho tanto tempo da perdere. Alcuni degli articoli sono finiti poi sul mio muro, interessanti, e da riconsiderare. Io adoro i giornali e le riviste, ti offrono diversi punti di vista, a volte riescono a mostrarti una parte di mondo che altrimenti non avresti conosciuto e soprattutto, anche se nessuno se ne rende conto, ti arricchiscono: ti fanno viaggiare mentalmente, ti fanno riflettere fino a farti formare la tua personale opinione e sono un'inesauribile finestra sul mondo moderno. Da quando è stato inventato il giornale c'è sempre stato. Possiamo comprare pc, iPhone, iPad, e qualunque aggeggio ipertecnologico con accesso a internet, ma nulla è come svegliarsi al mattino ed aprire il quotidiano davanti ad una tazza di caffè fumante. Niente è paragonabile al profumo di inchiostro sulla pagina. Non è una moda, è un evergreen.

Traveling comfortably in the car, I went back to Florence. Yes, another weekend out! I love to travel, especially when I visit, even for a short time, people I love. I forgot all the commitments of these days, I can say that the avalanche of pasta with salmon (cooked by my aunt) helped me a lot. You have to think that only a few hours before I decided to put some on a diet. I had 'The Florentine' on the desk for few days, and I decided to open it. Just because I have an avalanche of things to study and just because I have so much time to waste. Some of the articles are on my wall, interesting, and to reconsider. I love newspapers and magazines, you have different points of view, sometimes show you a part of the world that otherwise you would not have known, and most importantly, even if no one realizes, will enrich: you can mentally travel, you can reflect up untill you can form your own opinion and are inexhaustible window on the modern world. Since the newspaper was invented, it there has always been. We can buy PC, iPhone, iPad and any device with internet access, but nothing is like waking up in the morning and open the newspaper over a cup of coffee. Nothing compares to the smell of ink on the page. It is not a fashion, is an evergreen.
